EngraveIreland.com is part of Phillip J. Dix & Co. Ltd., which was founded in 1936 by Philip and Mary Dix.
The company was originally based in Bantry, Co Cork.

Philip and Mary started to import goods from all over the world mainly supplying the jewellery and watchmaking trades very successfully.

In 1956 the first contact was made with Gravograph France, who are the largest suppliers of Engraving machines and equipment in the world.
The business with Gravograph France has gone from strength to strength ever since.

Over the years four of Philip's sons have joined the business.

Philip Dix & Co Ltd. was transferred to it's current premises in Dublin in 1980. In the interim period the partnership with Gravograph has expanded.

Gravograph have continually strived to keep up with modern developments. They spend a huge part of their income on research and development. The first computerized machines appeared on the market in 1986 and they have been constantly upgraded since.

The engraving machines and supplies arm of Philip J. Dix is now run by James and Richard Dix, Joseph Chatham and staff.
